Deixo aqui num LINK a petição que recebi através duma amiga, Vera Tormenta Santana, que ainda há meses atrás me informava sobre este projecto através de informações como esta - LINK), e que já assinei.


Agora de seguida, para simplificar a minha tarefa um pouco, passo a citar este autor - LINK- evento

« Hoje foi mais um dia negro na história da nossa já demasiado moribunda .democracia.

Durante cinco anos a Escola da Fontinha esteve abandonada, a degradar-se por uma Câmara Municipal do Porto esquecida. Há pouco mais de um ano, um grupo de activistas ocupou o espaço e começou a recuperá-lo. Entretanto, depois de um despejo e muita pressão popular, o projecto Es.Col.A. voltou à Escola do Alto da Fontinha.
Gerida colectivamente pelos activistas e pela população, o Es.Col.A. foi um espaço onde o sentido de comunidade renasceu, onde se disponibilizava livre e gratuitamente apoio educativo, aulas de yoga e xadrez, capoeira, música, cozinha comunitária, teatro, oficinas de estudos artísticos e muito mais.

A polícia, a mando da Câmara Municipal do Porto, despejou violentamente os activistas que se encontravam na Escola da Fontinha, destruindo todo o material que estava até agora ao acesso da população – livros, computadores, móveis, cozinha, brinquedos, bicicletas – TUDO.

Esta atitude vem confirmar aquilo que há muito já sabíamos: a Câmara Municipal do Porto prefere um espaço abandonado e devoluto a um espaço onde tudo era gerido colectivamente pela população e onde se provava que um mundo de solidariedade e entre-ajuda é possível ser construído.


Amanhã, dia 20 de Abril (sexta-feira), em vários pontos do país saímos à rua para deixar bem claro que um ataque a um é um ataque a todos!
Não toleramos esta decisão da Câmara Municipal do Porto!
Condenamos a violência policial desproporcionada contra os activistas do Es.Col.A. e os habitantes da Fontinha!
Estamos totalmente solidários com os detidos!
Exigimos a entregue da Escola da Fontinha a quem de facto ela pertence: aos habitantes do bairro da Fontinha! Se é sua vontade a continuação do projecto Es.Col.A., então essa é a única coisa que podemos aceitar!
Pela ocupação e gestão colectiva dos espaços abandonados e devolutos!

News of the events at the school I speak of herein have been blacked out (censured) from the country's news.
This is all the more overwhelmingly odd due to it being the hottest news on Twitter (among other internet media) by the nation's peoples.



Rui Rio, head of Oporto's City Hall hired (called upon) violent thugs to attack and remove elderly along with school children from a school known as called « Es.Col.A da Fontinha »
This was an old abandoned school that had been taken back by its community and restored, becoming what would be one of the most remarkable school "projects" of the past decades.

Not only is it a travesty to "Education" itself, and the community that had worked for what could be a refreshing new path for learning, but a dire lack of respect for one's fellow man.

He has on more than one occasion shown lack of the most basic of "democratic" principles and has here shown his true nature.

No respect whatsoever should be given to one of such low moral integrity, so base.






- Rui Rio, this was low even by your standards.

Shame on you, sir. Shame on you.

Fang Lizhi - "Human Rights" suffers a loss (um adeus..)

 The funeral rites were held yesterday at 16h (4 pm). Having learned of his passing three days ago (he left us on the 6th) and out of respect I have waited to post this. I also wish to pay my respect and show appreciation for one whom has sought so dilligently to help and defend his fellow man.

Among the many superb horn sections this one was my first and strongest Love..

Not only musically an example to follow but as men. Their posture in life as friends and companions (I'll still use the present tense - with age change takes a little longer..) is inspiring and remarleable though it seem the most natural, simple, clearest path to take..

Since the news of one of them passing (last Thursday) I realized that they had finally been given the «Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award» on February 12 last. Yes, it's true that it was long overdue but at least they were both "here" to receive it.



Andrew Love, one of the two legendary The Memphis Horns passed away two days ago, last Thursday.
